C70 Convertible or Saab 9-3 or 3 series

Hi, want to get the wife a vert for the summer so we don't have to use the R so much & will be a bit of fun. Not to fussed about performance as got an M3 evo & V70 R phase 2 also. Think i would prefer to get an auto as our other cars are manuals.

Needs to have 4 seats as we have 2 kids & be under 8k if i'm sensible.

    1. Saab 9-3 vert 2004 onwards newer shape

    2. BMW E46 vert

    3. Audi A4 vert

    4. C70 vert facelift.

obviously the BMW & Audi would be older for the same money as the Volvo or Saab.

So what are the C70 verts like, anygood ?

    Cheers Simon.

I have seen a c70 vert, thy are nice, but as with all verts, little boot space!

Just remember that the sabb & volvo can interchange wheels.... useful if you gain a flat!

Boot space not an issue as we have a V70 also.

C70's seem good value but they are a bit of an ugly duckling compared with the other 3.

Nah I think the C70 is the best looking of them all, I don’t like the back of the Saab, I just don’t think the C70 has a good enough interior compared to the old one, they have based the interior on the S40 and not the V70 like they should have.
    Thanks

Also if you have other 7 series volvos, you will already know everything to look at/for in regards to problems, issues and general quibbles... otheerr point is that the c70 is a bit rarer & in my opinion, a bit nicer.

They look stunning in red! I'm also fond of saffy, but I'm not sure they made them after the facelift!

Also consider the resale value... I'll bet that the others will not hold value just as well.

Is their much difference between the earlier C70's & the facelift ones, i've never really taken much notice of them & all i can see from photo's is the front grille is different. I don't think a C70 will hold its value as well as the same spec BMW E46 vert, my V70R was £20k just over 2yrs ago,its worth about 8k now ! Everybody knows that Volvo's & Saab's depriciate badly but hey they are still great cars & a bit different, the only prob with the older BMW E46 is they can be a bit chav if you know what i mean.

Big difference with the first C70 its based on the very first V70 and that’s an old car now I do know the first C70 convertibles were very unstable cars on the bends, I still like the look of them but the new one is a whole new car I’m sure the handling has jumped miles in front of the old one. In those pics I posted the front and rear bumpers are more aggressive and that’s what the new C70 needed. All these cars will drop like stones nothing holds its money now. I know my G/F is screaming for a new C70.
    Thanks
