Well that answers my question thankyou Hamish.., Clearly the purchaser of your map was misguided in his interpretation of the figures..., which I accept...
FWIW, i appeciate the guy was running premium fuel but even so i would be disapointed if these were my results...
    Cheers

    Jod,

I'm not sure why you would be disappointed. 200whp at 4000rpm is very similar to the figures achieved by some much newer and more modified Volvos at a recent Rolling Road Day at Teweksbury. 200whp @ 4000rpm is also exactly twice what IRF has at that point according to his power plot and he is more than happy with his power.

    Regards,
    Hamish.

yes i am happy. i have it deliberately set up so that i'm running low boost up to 4k.

once in it's power band, as i may have already said in this thread the car stays with an evo FQ 330 up to 130. dunno about after that.

    why i'm even replying i don't know, i personally think you're full of sh*t.

who cares about all the small print??? the fact is it costs £150 its worth every penny most people dont know about all the afr`s and boosting and all the other stuff that goes with it.
if you dont want to spend £1000`s on your car but just make it feel like an animal.
this is what you will buy.
It works great does what it says on the tin.
sod the rr print outs who cares what bhp you got. if it makes you smile thats all that matters.

Erm, exactly.....the fact that most people don't know about AFR and boosting is exactly why people put their faith in tuners.

'IF' a tune is bad (and I am not saying this one is) then a poor AFR can lead to leaning out or running rich....either way the cylinders wont last long, then the £150 bargain turns into a rather expensive bill to rebuild your block.

I do agree though that if something does what it says on the tin and works for the owner then so be it It does however pay to pay attention to things like AFR.

very true. i was just trying to say say that all the normal people that dont know much about afr`s and all that read all this crap about what map is best and so on and so on.
makes you feel like. (i dont want one as it will blow my engine up) then they go on ebay and buy a mbc. and we all know what damage they can do..
im saying this as i dont understand all the geeky stuff and just want a safe off the shelf map for my car .
but there is that many people who just come on and have a go at each other that the original topic gets forgot about and simple normal people like me dont know what to do.
should have a fight room on here.
and let the decent forum users get the infomation they need.
