    Cool retro racer

    ive just stumbled accross this pic and think i may have found ideas for my next racer project
    really like the look of this

    yeah the kind of old skool volvos do look well but its very hard to find the body parts and most always cost a bomb for shipping from usa

    talking about hard to find parts, the right car seems hard to find too

    thanks for that, so there are some good ones left and quite local too.
    i keep checking autotrader and ebay but its really hit and miss...

    anyone know what a 740 or 940 saloon weighs in standard trim?
    also, what sort of power would you get out of the "old" 2.3 turbo lump with a map, MBC and exhaust?

    i,m seriously considering a swedish retro trackday/drag/drift project

    hello mate im building a 1997 940 modded turbo manual saloon. you can get alot of power from the 2.3 motor and they are very strong too. mine will be finished in febuary 2009 . it is already looking good

    i used to have a 89 740 turbo with the b230ft engine with a mbc on it.

    it was fun........

    people now me i try my best in all the projects i do ,i dont know if you saw the black v70 2.5lpt i built justin saw it and that was a good spec. this car is abit different being rwd and only 8v but should be quick when done.all i have to say is custom rad,ic,turbo,cam,big valved head,rebuilt brakes,bottomend,solid flywheel,m90 box,g80locker diff,galaxy rims,new uprated suspension and polybushed alround,strut brace,3in custom ss exhaust with 100 cell race cat,custom samco hose set up in engine bay ,the car is black berry peral in colour and the wheels are crome black. i hope this gives you an idea what it will be like mate

    me offended never the car would of been on the round by now but work and economics have slowed the project down a tad .

    hello mate parts for volvo helped me alot speak to clive there and i also am doing alot of the custom work myself if you need more info or help dont hessate to pm me thanks
