how much money do you think i would get off on part exchange for my T-5 R at a car dealer if i was going to buy a £5000-ish car? have never put a car in as part ex before and dont no what prices they offer

Sadly very little - they aren't worth much to anyone other than an enthusiast

    Dont Know mate.
    I bought my 850 t5r estate in 2006 m reg 130000 on the clock for £1700.
Needed some work doing I have spent about £3000 on it.
Its always costing me money but you would get that with any car. if not in bills but with the cash you loose on motors with age.
Its running o.k. at the moment just having heater problems.
There getting rare out there mate..

There is a 850 t5r saloon on the autotrader site for £3995.00 but I think that has been ther for a long time mate. The yellow t5r estates are rare...

but dealers are,nt bothered if they are rare or not, its just an 850 estate to them.
they just open their little book and prepare to give you a proper shafting from behind.
i always try and sell mine private now, even if you only get the same value, you dont feel so abused...

I know it is not what you want to hear but the dealers I have dealt with in the past run a mile from modded cars, and are not interested or offer even less than if it was standard. If you do have to get rid, then you would get a better price from a fellow enthusiast.

My dad took his '04 RR V8 Vogue in for a service a month ago. When he came to pick the car up, the sales manager, who he knew, said he had a great deal to offer my dad. They had a replica of his own car but with a V8 diesel in stock, unregistered.

He offered my old man £21k for his car [http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/used-p...22606&plate=76 a great price. But this was subject to paying full price and buying the car they had in stock.

A quick google search revealed that you can get the car they were offering some £12,469.00 cheaper than RRP [http://www.broadspeed.com/land-rover...or-13873.shtml.

So actually, what they meant to say is they think my dad's 4 year old RR is worth £8500

A bit naughty, considering they were essentially only offering £6k off RRP [acording to parkers] might be more like £8k but that is still £4k over the profit broadspeed is making!!!

As for your T5-R it is worthless to them. Any money they offer you is simply money they have in the car you are buying. Your Volvo would go straight to the auction.....
