will lower profile wheels damage awd transfer box

had t5 alloys on my 850 awd for a while, an well its time to get some new rubber, i much prefer the feel of the 50 profile of the t5 alloy compared to the 55's that were on the original wheels.
i just wanna be shaw that 5mm isnt gonna do any damage to transfer box?

The stress put on the awd system is usually due to a difference in the wear on the tyre treads. I heard a safe limit is a couple of millimetres difference.

So different size rims should be fine, as long as all the tyres are within the tolerance limit.

I've just replaced all 4 of my tyres (@ £50 each) as I know then that the difference is minimal. Then the other night, I got a huge bolt in one of the rears, and they couldn't repair it, so I had to spend another £50 on a tyre.

Yeah, anything is fine as long as every wheel is the same.

Dunno what lower profiles on original wheels would look like within the arches (that would be purely asthetics though)

I may be wrong but I recall that 302's will only fit if you have the Perfo 16" wheel, rather than the Columbus 16" wheels. Something to do with the internal design of the wheel affecting clearance.

    As I suspected:

    http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthread.php?t=5240

The 302 brakes DO NOT fit with 850 T5 Columbus/Columba alloys.
