    Why????

just a question about sumit iv always wondered.

why do some T-5 engines have the boost pipe going across the engine and down. like the yellow pipe bellow in my engine

and why do some go strait across the engine to the intercooler like in the pic at the bottom?

whats the diferance? and is it certain models that have it?

the striaght over jobbie is the reverse IC that was standard on the very early T-5's. Apparently due to freezing issues in Sweeden it was changed for the "curved" jobbie

The second picture is called a reverse IC set up. This was the way it was done on early T5s but was changed to the set up you have now. There was a reason it was changed ...something to do with freezing temps in the pipe causing issues, someone will know for sure tho ....

Edit ...cos Mrs M is a woman she can type quicker than me !!

the reverse flow set up is alot better as it shortens the route for the air to flow

My 850R has the reverse ic set up,the only dif i can tel is slightly quicker response from the turbo.I tried both, one after the other & kept what i felt was the best.Quite an easy swap.
