    fault code reader results

i got one of these DIY code readers with my car and ive just found a link to show me how to do it,

    its showing 4 faults,
    1-2-1 mass airflow sensor (AFM?)
5-3-5 TC control valve signal (whats this?)
    1-4-3 knock sensor
4-3-3 no rear knock sensor signal (whats this mean?)

car runs ok but the lambda light has been on a few times,
also ive tried to wipe the codes using the same link but it wont work,

can anyone tell me what these faults are to make sense of this?

just had a thought, ive had the MAS on the airbox unpluged a few times,
would this save and show up as a fault?

    mines got an OBD11,
the DIY code reader is just a board with a switch, an LED and clicker and 3 wires,
these plug in pin 3, 5 and 16 of the OBD port.

the only other thing is then is if it wernt pluged in correctly or you could just have a prob with the afm also i would say that the TC controll valve is the traction controll at the knock sensor it say to test for shorted or open sensor circit

just had a look on the mitchell and it looks like the tc control vavle is the turbo control valve and is situated betwwen turbo and left rear of engine also the knock sensor is located on lower front of engine

the Turbo control valve is the boost control solinoid AKA BCS

you have two knock sensors behind the inlet manifold..... according to my laptop codes you are missing signals from both the front & rear sensor!

    & a maf code

now, the problem is knowing if they are old codes or you actually have a persistent problem with the items!

i would be very suprised if the car is at its full potential with those codes logged

do you read ALL the codes then delete them or do them all seperately?
and how long are you supposed to wait after pressing for 5 seconds?

    Hi Nath..,
Connect the box and press the button once, all the codes will be read, there may be one, two or three etc....
When all the codes are read the light will stop flashing...
Press the light for 5 seconds
    WAIT
    Then the light will illuminate...
As it is illuminated press the button again for five seconds.....
I will take several tries to get it right.....
If the light does not come on after within 2 seconds after the first 5 second push you are not pressing it long enough, increase to 6 seconds....
    Cheers
