    Nice gauge install!

I've seen gauges installed in mirror caps on P2 cars - I think you can actually buy off the shelf items for P2 cars (carbon etc) and I always wondered if a 52 mm gauge would fit in a similar position on a P1 car - it seems now that this is a definite possibility - there's a guy on VS who has done a virtual How 2 and I reckon if you take a bit time to get it right it will look the nuts:

    some pics:

I think it looks great and is definately on the cards for a winter project for me! lol! - I'm thinking about moving my boost gauge from the din panel to this custom mount and then installing another gauge in the din panel - maybe an AFR?..

my current set up (Omori 3 x 52mm din panel):

full credit goes to Dan A from VS for the How 2, pics and inspiration! lol!

Looks good, quite conspicuous compared to the pods mounted on the side of the windscreen.

the gauge mount is an Omori item (P106) and it's 3 x 52mm.. its extremely rare over here. I imported mine from the Omori factory in Japan.

I've done a quick google and this company seems to be able to stock/supply them (although they are in the states):

sounds good/interesting! if you wanted to though I would imagine that you could actually fit 60 mm gauges in their - you wouldn't just be restricted to 52 mm gauges like you are if you fit them in the spare din slot.

I have already got a spare centre vent plastic surrond (thanks siamblue/cassis R) that I have cut the centre bit out of but still retain the thumbwheels for the vents so they can be left shut.

I`ll stick some piccies up when I have finished it off and am happy.
I guess you could always block the ducting off (make up a plate or something) and then remove the need for the thumb wheels? - might give it a cleaner look..

Good news - I`ve just won the boost gauge/oil press and oil temp on ebay for £24 delivered !!!! Just need a couple of senders now and the time to fit etc.
good luck with it! - sounds like a good project! seems like you got the gauges for a bargain as well! lol!!

ahh.. ok.. I was judging "roughly" by comparing my gauges! lol!

either way the 3 x 52mm will look sweet!!

What do you reckon ??? With green bulbs in and the Orange needles they even have virtually the same lighting as the rest of the car!!!

Just need to make a new mounting plate as obviously the one they are currently in doesn`t fit the hole perfectly - watch this space................
it'll look very good once it's finished off..

I just bought a P2 version of the "mirror" mount, the company only does 60mm mounts, but with a bit of emailing they have agreed to put a 52mm hole in the 60mm mount!

About £46 delivered! (primered not carbon fibered!)
