98 V70 Temp Gauge & Heater Temp!!!

Just got back from London & im freezing me moobs off.

At town speeds,the temp gauge in the car reads just under 1/2 way
with some nice heat coming from the vents.

At motorway speeds,the gauge reads around a 1/4 or less with very
little heat from the vents.

Slow down for town traffic & the temp gauge needle rises as does the
vent heat.

Any ideas?

No water loss at all & oil level is correct.

Faulty thermostat maybe??

Thanks bud.

I thought it might be the thermostat but my previous experience with
a cold heater was usually followed by an over heating engine due to
cooling loss

Defoe sounds like the thermostat exactly the same thing on my dads car
