Problem with original volvo spark plugs

Whilst the girlfriend was catching up on news from her homeland, this catch her eye. Please follow this link.

    http://www.svt.se/svt/jsp/Crosslink....68622&a=852140

Then go to the top right hand corner where i picture of a bloke is with a spark plug in the background. Press play.

Although this is in Swedish, you should get what is going on.

I pressume this is upto date as the report went out on 08.10.2008.

Basically, original volvo spark plugs are failing, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage to the engine. Volvo know this, but no one wanted to be interviewed. What the would say is that if you do a general service on your car, ie minor service which includes changing the plugs, they will not cover the costs if things go wrong as you didn't take it to them in the first place for a service.

If that doesn't work, still follow the link,

Look to the left hand side of the screen, scroll down to PLUS. Press and a new window will open. On the window, highlight the word

    se inslag dell 1

This open another window. On the screen, scroll down to the caption

    volvo tändstift orskade motorhaveri

After looking at this further, seems to be affecting V70's

    Loz,

You are going to get lynched by the T5D5 lot for suggesting that Volvo/Bosch spark plugs might not be perfect after all

Apparently, the site (Plus), is like our Watchdog series (without Anne robinson). Couldn't tell you an alternative, the programme doesn't state one.
(something to do with advertising). I know, doesn't help much. sorry
