Huge Thank You to Don. Marco and Tim!

What can I say really, I am so greatful to these three guys. Between them they have transformed my car into something that I never imagined!

The car went to Tim a few weeks ago for the following:- Fit 75mm Ally Intercooler, bigger throttle body, a later 16T, 3" downpipe/Race cat, green injectors, ME7 exhaust manifold, AFR gauge, Tim's special porting and few other odds and ends and a general chek over!

Tim is a magician! He managed to fit my intercooler and keep my air con! Thurough doesn't even come close to describe this mans attention to detail! His workmanship is beyond what you would expect from anyone, he really is a top bloke. I trust Tim with my car 100000%.

Yesterday Tim went down to Don's to get the car custom mapped. Marco was still in Sweden! Tim got all the necessary boost and AFR readings, Don linked the ECU up to his computer, and Marco mapped it remotely. They repeated the process until it was spot on.

I know everyone bangs on about it, but what Marco and Don are offering is without a doubt the absolute best remapping service you could want for your car. Marco has done an outstanding job of mapping my car, the boost and fueling are spot on, it drives beyond my imagination, responsive doesn't even describe it! It's so quick off the line, and pulls really hard to the red line. Not only has it been proved here to me that Marco really is as good as everyone says, but we've proved it can be done when he's not even here!

I also want to mention Don. Don has helped me no end since the whole hybrid incident, he is a really genuine helpful bloke. Kalmar Union are a great company to deal with, I can't recommend Don and his service highly enough. He's really gone out of his way for me here, as have Tim and Marco and I appreciate it massively.

There are plenty of other people I could thank for their help over the last 18 months, including Warren, Joules, Tony, Ben, Russ, Ashok, It could go on.......... Your all a cracking bunch of people.

Now where are them con rods..........

Sorry.. for a minute I thought I had logged into T5D5... (JK BTW!)

Sounds like it was worth it in the end! I bet your chuffed! - do you have any dyno plots from the mapping session? - I'm interested to see what gains you've made with your mods.

sounds good. Glad you got it sorted. as pangster said, it would be good to see what gains etc you got from the work.

would mind a 'blast' in it at a meet or whatever.

Definately mate, no problem at all!

Hasn't been on a dyno yet. It'll be going on the dyno in November at the Powerstation meet. Be interesting to see the results. All I know is it drives superbly. Lightening quick off the line and so responsive in any gear. The diff has a lot more work to do now!!!

I hadn't realise it had been mapped from data logs (just re-read your original post).. lol!

It'll be good to see what power/torque you're making with your mods!

just curious why you went with the angled flange 16T instead of the stock straight flanged on P1 cars? - do they hold boost better higher in the rev range or is there any other differences? It might be a fairly economical upgrade for other P1 cars (providing they get a cheap downpipe! lol!) if theres a benefit!

I'm sure someone will be along to correct me shortly, but I *think* the angled outlet flows better...

I fitted an angled outlet 16t on Tims advice as its a larger outlet on the turbine side and is meant to aid with flow because of its shape and size.

I didn't want to spam Chris's thread so I created a new thread here:

    Who said it was finished!!!!!

In all honesty, I'm so happy with the car now i'd be daft to want to do anymore, but I'm already thinking of the next stage.

The difference is unbelievable. It's made me realise what i've been missing out on for so long. There is so much more work that can be done before even thinking about changing the turbo.

After getting my car back IMO the 19T is seriously overated, unless you do your rods and can run higher boost.

Cheers Chris! Will look forward to that. I presume you will be enjoying your car over the weekend!

I ended up with a very similar V70- did yours find a good home?

    Glad to hear that!

All the reviews of upgrades by Tim / Marco are starting to make me think to much! Should have some time over the weekend to drop by if you're going to be around - really interested in the difference the LSD makes - and then there's the Tim / Marco mods!

19T overated..no way pedro !!..well ok it is on a standard geriatric map(custom, my arse) but with the MTE custom map and tims fine fettling it's the same as yours and feels like a big bhp n/a.....i think refined (yours)and savage is the term that would describe the initial drivers perception on our cars, but i wouldn't say there's that much in the final results. So glad your happy with the set up now chris it realy flies....and has been running for 59hrs more than the 2 hrs it was running for after the VT disaster.. ..p.s and then there's adrians car..
