Gearbox on way out????

I put a post up a while ago about a grinding noise which occured when changing up from 3rd to 4th and down from 5th to 4th on my 854, its a 95 manual (obvoiusly).

This griding has flumoxed me, i have changed the gear box oil but has had no effect, im pretty sure its not the syncro as it does not happen in any other gear, only when up or down to 4th gear and can change from 5th to 3rd with no griding!(i just tried it out to see if it was the syncro!)

some one told me that it may be the clutch on the way out???? admittedly it is pretty heavy although no slipping or as i said above any probs in any other gear.

or is the gear box knackerd if so what are my options, any idea of how much a new gear box will cost, what is the gear box called on my 854?? i get confused!

It's the synchro on 4th gear giving up.

i hav a gearbox sitting in my shed £50 if you want it good working order iv just uprated thats why iv changed it , where abouts are you
