You would be getting an 'off the shelf' map so it really shouldn't matter who you purchase it from. It seems that the only problems people may have encountered is with the custom maps which as the name suggests are customized depending on the vehicles modifications and the owners requirements.

again, as before, the 280 is aimed at an 850 t5 that is a little 'worn' or 'tired', the 280 full bhp depends on the condition of the engine & other related parts. an 850 with 225k miles should have a 280, my car was at 130k, they said my car can handle the 304, after fitting the tech guys said my car was fast as hell (3 other cars tuned on the same day). My car has a full Volvo history etc etc.....
As for octane.....put regular fuel in mine & it'll pink & misfire like a bit#h!!!! My car is very happy on tesco 99 or Vpower (98 octane). I drove to Hungary a while back & Vpower on the contint is 100 octane!! Car went like the clappers!!!!
So, tired car, your risk..... 304. 280 more appropriate. Tight car good history 304!!
.....sooper moose. '97 850R manual. Yum yum.

my current car is the oldest of the three I have owned and is an 850 with 165 k miles, and 304 treatment, good documented history, also goes like the clappers and is def the fastest I have experienced, dunno if I'd drive to hungary in it though lol

HLM/VT/Hamish recommended I opted for the RICA280 for my 140K T5 Auto over two years ago, I was more than happy as it totally transformed the car. The only time I wondered whether I should've gone for the 304 is when I was on the motorway. The 280 remap makes your car go fast....but 304 must be like adding turbolax to chronic diarrhea ie. seriously QUICK !!

I had the RICA remap for over 25000 miles & the car never missed a beat during that time. As you've most likely read, off the shelf RICA remaps are fine & I received top service from VT/HLM/Hamish. Just DON'T kick the ball to the blasted dog !!

As to how much? I'm not sure you'd have to give them a call or email.... 01527 577710 - email: info@hlmtuning.co.uk I should imagine it'll be cheap!!

Bromsgrove is just south of Brum off the M5.

Their dog thinks it's Pele !!

Just noticed in a previous thread that Tomcat spoke to Hamish at HLM last week and was told it would be £150 for the RICA upgrade.

If it were my car and it was in a good state of tune currently then I wouldn't bother with the 280 and go straight for the 304. If you have the 280 done you will only be left thinking this is good but what would it be like if......
