most places sell torx sets similar to this one

i think the top bolts are T27 or near that, its raining hard so not going outside to check!

make sure you a standard set and not a ball set, the ball set have round edges and can strip the bolts

Cheers you are right, the top ones are T27 and the bolts for the IAC are T30.

Car had been getting worse last night and this morning, stalled today again.

Just took it off and gave it a good spray with carb cleaner, it was pretty filthy in there! It's just sat outside now making sure it dries fully before re-fitting and hopefully this will stop the problem, if not only for a while!

Have drove the car for a bit tonight and it feels much smoother, will need to drive it more to see if that is just coincidence but I'm pretty sure the whole feel has been improved by doing that.

Many thanks to all who suggested the fix and assisted with tips and links etc :-)

Chris, any update on your ebay IACV?

My car has been running high and a bit jerky and stally, it is most definitely time to replace the IACV I think.

Curious on how that ebay one went for you before I buy a 130 quid one.

Cheers, that is good to hear, they have one listed on ebay today but it doesn't cover the T4 it seems, does not mention working on the 1.9:

Any ideas if I need a different one?

Just to update, I bought one of those ones from partsdome on ebay.

The car runs absolutely spot on now, idle is perfect, no dipping of revs or hesitation.

    Very nice purchase :-)
