Rough price for a CV joint replacement??

    Hi All,

Anyone had a CV joint replaced recently, and how much did it cost??

My C70 T5 needs the passenger side doing, and whilst its getting an oil change at Kwik Fit this weekend, they said they should be able to do it, but it will cost between £40 and £90.00, depending on what needs doing. I could do with gauging the price, beacuse I'll go somewhere else if it seems too dear.

Oh, and Id just thought Id mention that when I bought the car, the boot was hanging off, so could it just needed re-greasing??? Or if its now knocking, is it knackered???

    Cheers

    Paul

You can get them off Fleabay for £30 all in but then you'd have to pay for someone to put it on for you if your not confident enough to do it yourself.

    Linky..............................http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VOLVO-C70-S70-...6.c0.m14.l1318.

I bought my mintex disks and pads off these for my old T5, they are based in Hollinwood and they let you go and collect, they'd also make sure it was the right part for your car.

    Hope this helps.

£90 is a good price for CV joint change if it includes the part as well. I'd expect about £100 - £140 depending on geographical location and type of garage.

Cheers for that, so Im looking at £30 for the parts, and say, 70 labour. Sounds about right. Might just need greasing with a bit of luck

    Cheers

Quite often a grease up and new gaitor will solve the problems.

Mmmm, I wouldn't want to smear grease on my Johnson to be honest, but whatever floats your boat.

I'd be suprised if Kwik fit actually fit the part for that price......

Brother had a quote from Kwik fit for a new radiator fitted £150.00. When it came to the bill it was nearer £400.. get a written quote before they start the work detailing everything they are going to change...
