What about all the heat soak from the rad and air con condenser? Moving the horns is just a good way to tidy the front up.
Move to sweden !!
This was a "how to ' post on the site before wasn't it ?? And really , you lot live in the cold for 9-11 months of the year so it AINT WORTH the gains you expect to get , as compared to the effort to do a ****ty job , [ getting under the spoiler ] The gains would be negated on a hot day by sitting in traffic anyway...............OR MOVE TO A REALLY COLD COUNTRY !!!
On a different track , and thanks for the post DAC , if you are serious you can get an AQUAMIST kit and plug it into the pre-turbo tube and reap the benefits of moist air at any-time.Have alook at this or at the IPD/USA sitehttp://www.ipdusa.com/ OR http://www.aquamist.co.uk/

I moved the horns on my C70, wish I never did. Took far far far too long, cable blocks got stuck, cut knuckles, fingers and a lot of swearing.

I looked into that very thing a few years back on a Rover V8 engine with efi. Just before the airflow sensor was a metal mesh of sorts which must have had a decent surface area.
Apparently it's there to stabilise airflow over the sensor, so it does serve a purpose.
As for the horns, I moved mine and it wasn't a particularly difficult job. My primary reason was as I have an aftermarket grille and I prefer the look with the horns moved.
