    a Few questions for ya

all these are regarding the 850 T5.

    1. What are the different specs these come in?

    2. When they are standard how many miles to the gallon? motorway and town driving?

    3. What are the common faults on these cars? (cos there are a few common faults across the escort range)

    cheers.

    Hi
Specs vary from basic in most cases ex police
SE Glt GLe CD being top behind the R which as 15-25 more HP as standard plus lower stiffer suspension and bigger wheels.
Top of the range models will ussually have climate ,cruise, 4ew, ehm ,Tracs ,computer Radio cassette cd changer, leather ,wood trim , and some have ESR + ac.
In all cases they are a nice place to be.
I get around 25 mpg and any were between 18-35mpg depending on mood traffic etc. Cruising at 70-80 30-35 is achievable cruise around 100 and 24-25 is more realistic, and about 27 mpg at 90. Once stuck to 56mph behind a lorry and averaged 42MPG , as soon as I reached my private road and booted it to 150 it averaged about 17mpg.
The main thing I would look for is lack of service history , smokey exausts , lack of boost , worn brakes and front tyres, fault lights on dash . Overall very reliable motors that should do 200k +if they are looked after.
IM sure someone will know more things to look out for.
