no not selling it now. wont get much for it with gearbox like this.
has decided that after giving it
    new radiator
    thermostat
    dump valve
and now gearbox a may as well keep it as at least i no it has all new stuf so should last a wile.

just gota get the geasrbox sorted first.
not sure weather the get gearbox fixed or buy one.
if i buy one i dont no what condition its in but if i get mine fixed at least i no its ok.
    its just the cost tho.
havnt got a clue how much its gona cost and i had better start saving coz im skint

Where's the 'Spelling Police' when you need them!!

I honestly didn't realise that automatics had clutch plates! I thought it was all done with hydraulics, torque converters and fluid couplings - that's why I can't be much help to you I'm afraid!

    Still, best of luck though!

    Cheers,
    John.

i havnt got a clue how an auto box works but aparently the plates that transfer the power from the engine to the gearbox are slipping under power.
the car drives fine if i drive normaly but give it any power and brrrrrr it slips witch is soooooo anoying when you have boyracers fly past you and you cant blow them away LOL.

and yes MIKESC70T5 all my cv joints are sorted now.

Sorry to hear that bad news is my auto box went 6/7 months ago and it was more than i paid for car to get it fixed.Place in Hammersmith i used in the end but mine was TOTALLY shot bloke reckoned he'd never seen one so bad it seems to be quite a specialist jobby.Guess it depends how bad yours is gone but you could be looking at over a grand for a rebuild.See if you can locate a good second hand box? Maybe even buy a crashed write of auto and use the box etc? i seriously considered converting to manual, seems it can be done if you can get the bits.Personally i would never buy another t5/t5-r etc auto.

get it converted to manual then! plenty spares out there and it's different! thought auto boxes had clutch bands, maybe that's where the confusion about clutches come from????????
