Evening,
I only joined a few weeks ago (just before the big crash) and am trying to find the saved version of my 1st post so that I can re-post it and update it with where I am now (with my problems)...
In the meantime I would be grateful for advice on the following mods (can't afford anything too fancy or expensive) I'm considering: Strut brace & ECU remap.
With regards to the remap what would be your recommendations and can anyone suggest a good place to get it done in or around S Wales?
These guys (http://www.supertuning.co.uk/volvo-s...remap-825.html) estimate the following on my car (Volvo S40 2.0 T (2003) 163BHP Standard), as do http://www.upsolute.com/index.php?op...4&id_model=191.
Power (hp): From 163 hp to 203 hp
Torque (Nm): From 240 Nm to 310 Nm
... and http://www.race-tune.com/volvo.htm don't seem to do one for my car anymore.
Are these sorts of gains possible without any further mods?

Thanked 64 Times in 60 PostsI'd suggest a manual boost control, upgraded air filter, possibly change the turbo, and a straight though exhaust with a racing cat! that should keep you busy for a while.

Thanked 7 Times in 6 PostsI'm running mbc with 14psi with decat, 2.5 custom system and induction kit and i'm getting a bit more than that 203bhp!!! You will need to do induction and exhaust if you increase boost regardless of wether its a mbc or remap!
I have a sparco strutbrace that cost me about £60 from Strutbracer! Refused to pay the £160 or so Volvo wanted!!!
