Hi,
Sounds like you are having a lot of grief!
Having looked at mine a lot lately (Oil leak from turbo drain pipe) I can appreciated the drama in getting it changed, are you going to change the box yourself, or get someone else to change it?
How many miles has the box done?
Apparently it takes a trained mechanic about a day to drop it - the subframe needs to come out! I seriously wouldn't contemplate it unless you are really sure.

I can understand what you mean, there is a lot to take off, remember, and you need an awful lot of space too, I will take on a lot, but I would have think very hard about a box swap on one of these puppies, makes me wonder about how I treat mine, although the 740 I had took a lot of stick, I put 100,000 miles on it and didn't ever change the oil!!!!
I wonder if an oil change would be a nice treat for my baby...
Anyone know of any tricks I should watch out for?
