    Oh not again!!!

Arrived home from work today and just as I was pulling up the low water light came on, swiftly followed by clouds of steam from under the bonnet!!!. It was too late to check when I got home so I'm going to have to look in the morning and see whats gone wrong this time!!!!

me too, unfortunately for me, i did not know what it was and was only a few miles from home so drove it home, which did the damage and put oil and water into the engine block and warped the pistons etc,, if i had stopped straight away i might have been able to save it,, but alas,, it meant a new lump,,,, so just an idea,, dont drive it until you know what it is for sure, just in case,, that was it might save you a new lump if its more than just a hose leak,,,,, dont mean to put the downers on, but just tryin to help a fellow troll save money and avoid what i had to go through...... all the best matey...

a certain person just put a post saying HMMMMM Subtle about my honesty about the situation, then Decided to delete his post straight away,, why delete it?? fel free to speak your mind,, im just tryin to help someone not have the same problem as i did,, im sure if i had been subtle and said nothing, and he drove it and buggered his lump from not knowing what i knew,,, do you think he would have thanked me for being subtle,,,,, I know i would rather know my options than cost myself more money,,, I wont say who it was that posted and then deleted it,, but i saw who it was,, hope that person never has a problem in the future that he might have prevented by someone not being subtle.... after all, if we all keep our gobs shut, we wont help anyone wil we??? Rant over,,,lol

Thanks anyway, I do appreciate it, as you say better to know up front rather than cause more damage...

    No its a manual.

Unfortunatley I replaced the expansion tank with a new one only a couple of months ago, so I doubt its that.

I was going to say if its an auto the hoses could have rubbed against the auto dipstick, but thats 'blown' that theory out of the 'water'.

Sorry TC, bad joke. Hope it turns out to be something simple and cheap to fix. How was the water temp on your dash?
