    KW Suspension

I have just fitted the KW coilover kit which has been in my possesion since december.
Compared to the top adjustable Koni's i had before they are on a different planet. Much better handling, ride , everything!
The kit can lower the car by 60+mm if req'd and is ride height adjustable.
To anybody thinking of getting suspension soon --- save up and order a KW kit you wont be dissappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!
    My car is now -50mm!!!!

Thats what I had on my C70 KW Variant 2 Coilovers, could lower it enough so the front end of the car woudlnt get over speed humps and that was with the standard bumper!

They do need setting up correctly though, as in corner weighted and defo get the tracking checked and re-checked once you have adjusted the height!

Don't go too low or this happens:

This was replaced under warranty but I did have to give the ride heights at all corners and they told me I'd gone too low.

Took months for mine to settele down, it was really bouncy to start with! Hard as nails now

From memory theirs 3 kits available all with different levels of adjustability but prices probably start 700ish for the basic kit and got to £12-1300 although I am guessing.

The front end of mine took about 2 months to finally settle but the back end never did even after 7 months of use.

Varient 2 seems to have gone up in price

Varient 3 is available in the States but not listed here.

Only S40 catered for in varient 1.

looks like your suspension bush popped out !! probably due to general wear and tear a bit as well.

    not seen that before.

mine is setup properly by 4 wheel laser alignment, it could go lower but the front negative camber is at the end of it's adjustment so i would scrub the tyres

i got my kit for 830 inc.
Motor sport world add 30 for p+p !!
my local carnoisseur shop soorced it for me direct from germany but i took
a month to pass through customs due to a mix up!!!

and lastly- is there such a thing as too low?????

Too low is when the car becomes undriveable!

The KW kit is designed to drop the car between two measurements. If you drop the car lower you are out of spec and it puts undue stress on components. Thats what KW told me.

The photo is the bush out of the shock yes, but after 2 weeks! That isn't wear and tear.

Yes, when this happens, its too low.....

What you see there is my old front pipe, and my old gearbox casing (patched up) after both met with the ground at approx 80-90mph while braking and hitting a bump all at once.

On the same springs the car couldnt be mapped as the exhaust was touching the roller as it sat on the RR

Needless to say I have now changed the springs to make it a more sensible height, yet thankfully not sacrificed any handling.

All fast cars long gone. Sensible family BMW 3 series now.
Still Volvo links though as my wife has a V50 R design sport and a mildly fettled T4
