    Hi there all.

can you shed some light on this little problem i have on my s70 t5 1997.

when i go to put my foot down (as i do quite alot as i love sorting them subarus out) i get the power i need then all of a sudden it holds back then the power comes back, but so does the engine management light on the dashboard.

If it was me I'd take it to a local garage. Most can read the ECU codes and it shouldn't cost you more than £10/20. If you're lucky they may not charge you at all.
    Should tell you the problem.

I've just been through hell with my C70 T5. Was like power would drop off then come back in then drop off again etc etc. Mine turned out to be the front lambda sensor (ME7 engine so mine has two), I bought my own code reader which picked the fault straight up.

Beware of going to Volvo direct as some dealerships only charge a few quid, however Mill Volvo up here quoted me 160 quid to plug in plus a further 80 for a visual identifcation of the fault - rip off! I bought a code reader for 130 quid and did the same job myself.

    Chris....
When your bank statement says you've spent too much just think "You can live in your T5, but you can't race your house!"

    i hate orange lights (help)

cheers you lot i will take it to the garage i think....

    i hate problems like this...

i have a new MAF sensor to put on so i will try that first...

but i have also noticed a slight perished pipe that attaches to the wastegate..

    maybe this is the problem....

i will let you know how i get on with the new MAF sensor first...

im going to invest in a code reader i think..they sound like a good gadget to have...

    many thanks again you lot...
