Cool Engine looks better thanks to Wootty

Down at the car today and fitted the bits and pieces I've been sent by Wootty so far. Piccys just don't do it justice and it's not until you're actually standing next to the car and you see the light hit the metal at just the right angle and then... Wow!

That last pic is what i was after. Looks great. Nice little touch with the centre cap on the PS cap.

I might be able to get away with the brake res cover as i never thought about the strut brace hiding the cut off point.

Hey Steve - yeah, I know what you mean. But it works very well - the strut brace manages to cover the bare section quite nicely.

The centre cap was just lying around my garage and I've been looking for a good excuse to attach it to my engine

I've got the fuel rail, battery cover and the power steering cover.I'm not convinced on the expansion tank cover though. If Wootty could make it so it shaped itself around the rubber pipe in an arch i'd have one.

    Are you listening Wootty.

    Hey Tom,

Like yours, mine didn't fit quite right either, so I stuck an old CD cover to the top of the battery and then fitted the cover from Wootty. Not perfect - but a vast improvement on the crappy black plastic battery that lives in my engine.

I've only had the car about a month and a bit, so I'm thinking about buying the larger sized battery for the winter coming in.

I also insulated the bottom of Wootty's cover incase some unforseen incident ocurrs and the cover shorts the electrics. But as you can see, there is a good 6/7mm clearence between both the negative/positive terminals and the cover:

It looks great apart from the over lap (the cover obviously being a few cm longer than the actual battery), but all in all, it still looks great, even with the over lap:

Ah.....cheers for that, although I think I'll just keep it to one side until I can be bothered buying a bigger battery(only bought this one six months ago)

Shame you are so far away, as I have a spare heavy duty battery kicking about - brand new, never used a just topped up .
BTW - engine bay looks very, very smart indeed. Credit to wooty for his handy work and not least yourself for your elbow grease!!
    Wish I had a Volvo!
