    In Car PC

Anyone know of a good "how to" on building an car PC? I've tried the search, as I'm sure a couple of people have done this, but didn't come up with much. Also tried searching google etc... but didn't really come up with much helpful info.

Has anyone successfully fitted an in car pc? Also does anyone know if you can use an Alpine DVD Headunit (w200ri) with a car pc?

Cheers for any help or info on the subject.

www.digital-car.co.uk or www.mp3car.com are good places to start.

I've just started building one into my 850, click on my sig pic and navigate to Car-PC.

As 2fast says. digitalcar.co.uk is your best bet. I am refering the volvo wners there here so may as well go the other way too

There is mp3car.com too but it isnt the friendliest place in the world for noobies and very americentric. Good for research though.

It is unlikely the Alpine will be compatible

I have had one in my C70 from when I bought it.. had a carpc in my cars for about 3/4 years now. One of the best mods ive ever done.

www.mp3car.com was my main place for research... just use the search and ull probably find anything u need to know!

I've just gotta find the time to transfer all the gubbins from my old C70 into my new one ill be able to remove a C70s interior with my eyes closed soon! hehe.

PC is in the boot, and wiring was quite easy.

Being a mac user and realising that the mac mini is roughly the size of a single din stereo anyway, it crossed my mind to incorporate a mac mini into my car. Never have the money, know-how or aptitude to do it though.

Apparently plenty of people have though. Have a look, you can pick up a relatively cheap mac mini on ebay and if you desperately hate the mac OS, then use boot camp to run windows.

Anyway, there's quite alot the t'interweb about this, but here's one link you may be interested in.
