Is it not P0171? If it is its more than likely an air leak, Look at the rubber elbow on the left hand side of the inlet manifold around the thermostat housing.... These fail all the time..... Its a £5 part maximum and its a 10 mins job to replace

As for the SRS light I aint got a clue but if you reset your ECU i.e disconnect the battery for 10 mins it should switch it off, if theres a fault the light will come back on.....

    Cheap options first

    the saga continues

Ok I got car "fixed" from garage on Saturday with no lights showing.

Later on I realised that the engine management & SRS light do not light up at all , even on starting the engine.

Now ive got alarm bells ringing !
They had the car for approx 2 hrs.(long enough to pull a couple of dash bulbs!)

Or is this me being over cautious ???

Any advice as Glencoe to Glasgow , Sterling or Inverness are a good 2 hours drive away from me to get a main agent to check it

Get the codes re-read - if they are still there then, as you suggested, bulbs could have been pulled, they should light up on ignition on. If so back to the garage and remonstrate, then off to your local Trading Stds Office.

Sod going to Taggarts, They will rob ye blind...... £57+VAT per hour

Theres a guy called Willie in Rutherglen I used once and he went through and reset my whole system for £50

If you call Owen Ferry on 0141 848 5773 he is a Volvo specialist in Paisley, He will give you Willie's number coz he does the diagnostic... I think its Willie McLarin but not 100%
