    Wow!!!!

    Just fitted my strut brace.

I know form reading previous posts about this, how much it made a different. They are all true.

It really does stiffen up the whole front end. Had a good go with another T5 on sunday going to minehead. Hit well over twice the motor way speed. The car felt so much more comfortable. It was good fun. Awesome mod.

Also fitted the top engine mount. Also felt the difference. The sound that is makes coming through to the cabin is nice. The old one just fell apart when i took out.

    2 top great mods.

Sadly. Had to folk out £100 today as the drivers side electric windows switchs diceided to go up in smoke. Gutted.

The strut brace was the very first mod I did.

I understand that the coupé's handling is better than the convertible's. Take it from me, the standard convertible's handling is freakin' awful. I'd never have considered increasing the horsepower before improving it. That way lay squishy slimy death.

As soon as I put the strut brace on, it was a whole new car. It actually went around corners.

In my opinion (given the benefit of hindsight), the C70 convertible is the Harley Davidson of the Volvo world. Unlike Harleys though, at least you can do something about the C70.

I found it a little tricky to put the fusebox mount back onto the nearside strut after the brace itself was in position. However, it went back on with a bit of grunt.

Then, after that you need to get new shocks and springs. (Well, maybe not actually need, as such, but they take the handling up another significant level). It's a very noticeable improvement. More so than the improvement the strut brace makes by a long, long way.
