Im concidering changing my dampers - "everyone" is talking KONI's - but why ?
Does anyone have experience with for instance SACHS Performance ??
The price for SACHS is almost half - so are the KONI's twice as good ??

When I fitted my Eibach lowering springs, I also replaced the shocks. I used Sachs shocks, and have been very happy with them.Originally Posted by chrjen

Depends on the Sachs as the ones we sell are about the same price as the Koni's.
From what i remember of pzorbs posting - Sachs make the original dampers, not sure if there are uprated versions or just the stock replacements available
KONI do FSD and Monroe do Reflex, which for road use is a great suspension upgrade, but I don't know if Sachs has anything similar.

I never looked at Sachs to be honest. KONI already have their reputation from racing etc and they are one of the lowest priced kits you can buy...(I did say one of the lowest before someone jumps in over a couple of quid). I also got mine cheap off Ebay so my choice was purely financial... cos I want coil overs when I actually get some money in the bank...
My two pence worth - would be to look at what you want out of your setup (and your budget). KONI yellows have some adjustment for you to play with, I'm not sure if the KONI FSD units have.... If you want to play even more you could start to look toward fully adjustable coil over suspension units.

That's true but I also take it to Britains biggest rallycourse (Scotland) as often as possible and the are good there aswell. In my opion this is the max stiffness without being uncomfortable.Originally Posted by volvotuning

If you really want to test your suspension bring your car to Leeds, the potholes will knock the fillings out of your teethOriginally Posted by volvos60t5
Drove to Cornwall, around the Cornwall/Devon border and back this past weekend and I knew I was back to Leeds when I heard the thud thud of the road faults trying to tear my car apart. I want better susension too but the Leeds roads just make it a ridiculous joke to harden up the shocks etc. My Citroen CX was the best car for here, but I suppose a chelsea taxi would do fine too.
This is where Koni FSD and Monroe Reflex really make a big difference.Originally Posted by neevo

How so?Originally Posted by volvotuning

Cheers
In laymans terms, the FSD and Reflex automatically adjust to varying road surfaces, hence you can have improved handling without sacrificing the ride quality, even on crap roads.Originally Posted by neevo
So if you regularly drive on a mixture of good and bad roads but want good handling, the FSD and Reflex are ideal.

Hard you work'em the stiffer they get.
I have just had my eibach's and FSD's fitted and I have to say the transformation is nothing short of miraculous.

you want a bad road nr the german dutch border in belgeium thats one realt bumpy road so bad i nearly did a rim in over there cornish roads are like silk compared to that lol
FSD's will be great from what i hear, but i defy anyone to buy some the waiting time for a set for an 850 is massive!
I Reckon I am Perilously close to 592 Bhp With all my non dangerous Mods
Here you go on the FSDs

And if you search for 'weitec' you'll find out about Sachs (the latter seem like a good idea for the money).
I fitted them myself with the help of a friend; if we can do it anyone can do it FYI Europerformance had the parts the cheapest; Larkspeed were the only guys that had the 850s in stock (in Europe).
