    What is this?

Picture taken from driving seat looking down with centre console removed. On the right is the hand brake adjuster.
It is like a block of metal with a thin coating of yellow rubber.
(You can see the marks where I sliced all the skin off my hands removing trim!)

It would appear to be part 8250238 which is listed as an Oscillation Damper on ***** within the sub section for front floor section
