    Blown MAF with White Spirit...?

OOPS, my car has just died.!!!!

I've been playing with a 3.0 24V throttle body. Preparing and measuring up pipe work to get it fitted (probably not this month now though). So whilst looking around the car I noticed that the front of the HKS filter was black, so I thought I should give it a clean.I cleaned my HKS mushroom filter using the nearest thing to petrol I could find...white spirit......which I had planned to leave over night to dry off....

.....but then with a lapse of judgement...

I was in a rush to get the car out of the garage to an Archery meet so after ringing out the filter I put it back on and started the car...the car went splutter and died after 30secs of running....the car has not restarted since....

Hands up who thinks I've blowen the MAF.....?

anyone think that I could dry off the MAF and it'll work again...? (ah well it was worth a try..!!)

New MAF ordered just in case....

should clear itself as MAF has self burner wire if that be the problem mate, mind you depending on how much bloody white spirit you used plugs might be flooded lol.

I'll be able to give the car a proper look at tomorrow...... I did try it earlier and it coughed a spluttered, but it didn't fire up... spark plugs out tomorrow as well......fingers crossed......otherwise I'll have the Cavalier at TRAX, which will look good ...

New MAF arrived today in preparation of replacemant.... (thanks for the offer Fraz).... With a cough and a splutter the car fired up with the original, so it must have finally evaporated, but at least I have one spare just in case..

It ran on three cylinders for a while, but I removed, cleaned and re-gapped the sparkplugs...so far all is well again....

Also now the KONI's are fitted ...
