S80 T6 - RICA 'd Top Speed

Now this is a question rather than a statement.

Considering getting a Volvo S80 T6 - and was wondering what the bragging rights would be considering top speed but couldn't actually find any information anywhere about a RICA'd T6.

Anybody got one?

Think it will be a case of whats the top speed of the gearbox as can imagine that will limit the car rather than the engine.

Only ever drove one, surprisingly quick for a barge!

Its difficult to guess 'top speeds' on the road in this country, even on a track you run out of road too quick! I know it is a completely different car, but on the way back from skiing in the alps this year (loaded car with skis etc) - Hamish decided to see how fast the V70 19T could go - we hit 165mph and the car was still pulling, but I chickened out and shouted at him to slow down LOL! and then we got done for speeding later on at 90 mph!!!!!!!!! Bl**dy french.

they r geartronic and have heard they break. also been told that t6 is limited to 155 put will do 165 as standard. also have seen one that was chipped dont know wot chip all i can say is volvo wouldnt touch it at all and driver claimed 180 . as for this being true i didnt see it.there r alot ov problems with tha engine apparentley thats why volvo hasnt put it in the new s80 ithink

Cracking Q car loved the look on boy racers as a big Volvo saloon left them at the lights.
Mine was Geartronic lot of things have been said on this site about Geartronic some bad some good
I had no problem with the gearbox.

to be fair too the boy racers my d5 s80 left them standing to that was fun

no it was chipped to 193bhp and it left a scoobie at the lights but he did pass me five seconds later although i raced a 2.9 s80 and that couldnt keep up with it at all

Reason the T6 isnt going in the new car is the size of the block, its too long and the emissions are too bad and wont pass new tests.

I Had a T6 and the geartronnic kept messing up "computer gremlins" anyway It would do 100 MPH in second gear and cruise at 100 mph at 3000rpm in top so if you could power it all the way who knows!

Gearbox will do 200mph +. Top speed depends on power and more importantly drag co efficiency.

wow if you left a scoobie at the lights for even one second with a 193 bhp S80 with at least 3600lbs curb weight, the scoobie was either parked at the lights when you floored it, or it was an impreza 1.6 glt or something.

and the T6s not being able to keep up? come on mate. you're not actually claiming that a chipped D5 is faster than a T6 are you? they were probably not trying.

A chipped D5 is on par with T5 territory (depending on who chipped it) and the T5 has never had any problems with a T6 so it is possible!!

if you read my post i said it beat a 2.9 s80 not a t6 never really seen a t6 on the road to try anyway as for scooby it wasnt paked maybe the driver was crap i dont know all i was saying is the d5 was soooo fast it was stubid the company i worked for bought it like that so dont know what chip was in there but it went to volvo dealer and it came up unrecgonised chip
