excellent mate, bet the induction kit sounds nice - tho the opinion seems to be that their not as effective as the original air box

I had heard that about the airbox, unless you create a cold air chamber for the air.
I have noticed that the underbonnet temperatures on my S60 are very very high, I wouldn't want to be dragging that hot air that into my engine, even if you used a cold air feeder pipe it would be hot.
Probably a good thing that the S60 has the battery in the boot (trunk) it should last longer than in those extreem temperatures.

got 2 cold air feed pipes running from the front direct to the filter, going to make a air box for it to sit in sometime very soon

Met a guy in supermarket carpark yesterday (Note to self - I need a VPCUK flyer to hand out!) - he pulled up in a sweet sounding S70T5R he had bought - had all the bits from a strut brace, alloys, calipers, grooved discs, to an induction kit - read on! He showed me under the hood claiming 275 bhp which intrigued me as my 'standard' 855 has a RICA 280. Anyway - his had a repiped intercoler and a cone air filter in a cold air compartment where the standard airbox lives. If I see him again I will get pics buit the thing looked like a vertical scuttle panel with a rubber seall across the top and the air filter inside. I thought the basic engineering principle was sound though
I did not note where the MAF meter was. - Intrigued as to if it really worked.

Obviously the main objective is get as much cold air in with as little restriction and as little heat "soak" as possible. Any damn way you can...
    Cheers

Mmm - interesting - I wil see if I can some pics of aforementioned as itsd taken a different approach in that the filter is roughly where the original one would have been. A pic will explain.

Do it properly, use the front wing vent from a mercedes sprinter van, graft it into the wing of the volvo and have it refinished at paintshop...
