    Pollen Filter

Does anyone know if the 850 series has a pollen filter fitted?
If so where is it located?

If its the same as the S70 which i suspect it will be, it will be under the plastic scuttle where the wiper motor is.....

Not strictly true as mine has electronic climate control but no pollen filter or holder. Mine is a SAUDI IMPORT though.

I don't think the 850R's ever had them as standard.

You can buy the retrofit kit from a dealer, its a rectangular filter holder that fits over the 'oval' hole.

The filter then clips into the holder.

I have found the pattern filter from GSF is just as good and much cheaper. Have to get the holder from Volvo or could try a salvage yard

If its any help, my bruvs 850 GLT has a small rectangular filter and ducting between the bonnet landing panel and the alternator. It has an intake behind the grill and leads to a box on the d/side inner wing. Dont have a clue what it is though. Maybe someone can enlighten me?????
While I am here, does anyone have any ideas for what to do with the roof mouldings which look really tatty because the coating seems to be peeling off. Thanks for any ideas

that little box houses the ecu`s on the drivers side inner wing as for the pollen filter it was a factory option fit on nearly all 850`s after 97/98 they were then fitted as standard
