what will my local volvo centre do on a service?

Will the engine be tuned back to normal as my T-5 seems to have a flat spot between 3k-4k revs! Air filter is fine and there are no warning lights on.

Depending on the centre they will more than likely tell you that it the fault is additional to the service schedule and charge bucketfulls of money to rectify it.A good recommended independent would be a much better proposition depending on the age/history of your car.
