Help on 302mm brakes and DS2500 pads...

Well the bigger discs and carriers arrived yesterday (many thanks to Marshalls!), so I've arranged to get them fitted at my local motorsport shoppy here: http://www.rsmmotorsport.co.uk/pages...yid=about%20us

They're experienced in the motorsport sector, but not specifically in Volvos, does this matter?
After reading through WobblyDave's excellent 'How to' guide it seems fairly straightforward (for a mechanic anyway!) but are there likely to be any Volvo-specific problems that could hinder the job??

Also, after asking them to order some Ferrodo DS2500 pads, they were told by their supplier that they dont make them for my car?! I presume this is false what with the high usage of these pads on cars on this forum.
So anyway, they're going to try different suppliers to see if they can get them, is there any reason why the supplier told them this? A wrong part number perhaps??

Well hopefully they should be able to get them from somewhere!

Oh and how many miles (ish) should I run them in for? Am just doing the front discs and pads, braided hoses all round and flushed through and some new 5.1 fluid.

    Many thanks!

    Joe

Well like I said they're trying other suppliers but if that fails i'll give VT a call!

Motorsportworld dont give a price for some reason?

    Cheers,

    Joe

P.S, I know there's no real problem in finding the pads myself, I just thought it strange that a supplier said what they did...

Usually 1000 odd for discs and pads. Dont know if those make a difference.

I replaced mine a few months ago. Once I got all the connections appart job when very smoothly. Thanks goodness for easybleed kits. Car now stops much much better than before though as much to do with getting rid of 12 year old fluid as the new brakes.

Many thanks for your replies people!

They are being fitted about 1 month before I take it on track, so might have to step-up the weekly mileage to bed them in...

Just been through the bedding in process myself (on disks only). Really just a case of a number of 1/2 heat cycles going 50 - 30 mph many times with 1/2 pressure. Did this for about 50 miles (not all in one day mind!!)
