I understand value depends a lot on condition and mileage, but what is the rough going rate of these at the moment (assuming they are at least road worthy)? I imagine they are creeping upward?
Manual is 850 is supposed to do the 0-60 run in around 7.2, the R in 6.8. Even the R won't overturn the weight difference in standard form. Saying that, the 850 is much better build quality than the...
The T5s are more powerful on paper but the Focus STs almost certainly have a better power to weight ratio. I would expect that in standard form the odds would favour the ST to pull away a little. On...

Do any of the forum users own his old car?
congrats :)
Is it a different engine or just detuned?
An s40 with a T5 engine must go like ££££ off a stick.
It looks amazing. I'm always find myself admiring the RWD models. They don't make them like that anymore. Less electronics to go wrong, too.
You realize that they are even smaller than a focus in boot and leg room? The boot size is actually comical. They are not fast at all when you consider the relative size of the car to the engine....
Very interesting!
I'm on the lookout for an 850 t5 also, but I'd prefer the manual and estate... not a big fan of autos
Post some pictures when you can, you might provoke some interest :)
It is a manual or auto. The estates tend to get a better price but generally speaking the 850s seem to be increasingly holding on their value if they are in good nick.
How much did you pay for it? The days of getting well maintained bargains will be getting harder as they start entering classic status.
The prices are going up, obviously lol.
Is that an R600?
Looks pretty nice. Definitely easier to live with and more reliable than the 850r. However, I'd still have preferred the Focus ST considering the engine under the bonnet. You can get these cars for...
Yeh the TDi's are very underrated. No advisories on mine and 180k on the clock. I can't fault it mechanically in the slightest apart from some electrics needing attention. I pxed my 850r for it,...
19k seriously? That is just over 1k a year. I'm all for low mileage cars but surely there is a point where mechanically it's better to have a car that is used more regularly. Use it or lose it?
