Decided to sort my exhaust manifold gasket last week on T5
Took it apart and replaced the manifold gaskets with new ones which were metal one side only, so imo not as good as the gen volvo one's...
as above "grain of wheat" the last lot I got were 40mA 14V
I'll come to the next one didn't realise it was that close!

Just finished my head gasket last week 1k ago, I had a very small leak into the water jacket on number 5, was getting steam out of the exhaust and air bubbling into the heater matrix when blipping...
so do they reach maximum torque/pressure before you get to the last part of the final 130degrees say at 100degrees for example?
It's very good.........on the camcover.......spray it on, leave it for 20mins and remove all baked on gasket with a soft bendy credit card.............how good is that?
Doing the head gasket on Greenmachine just now, seems a bit mad on a car with way over 300,000......but...well the bores are shiny and the wear is v-small - will post a pic if I remember how....

what's the best way forward?
I need to replace the middle and back boxes, the volvo parts are coming in at £4/500ish and "cheap" parts are coming in at £200, my thinking is stainless if I can...
I have to admit to 2 gearboxes as well, one because it was very noisy and the last one because the replacement was accident damaged with a cracked casing, oil starvation destoyed it in the end.
I'm looking forward to the gold badge, and can't help thinking ill still be on the original exhaust system. My highest mileage car to date was an E30 323 at 380k, I can't remember how many exhaust...
