Thanks for the comments guys.
I was just reading exactly that thread! I've changed the turbo return pipe but not the supply pipe, although the previous owner had had it done in the past. I'll...

I've been working on the mystery coolant behaviour recently - taken from another thread:
"When cold it can all but disappear from the tank and when driven hard it fills the tank to the brim, I...
So I had a head cleaned up and skimmed and I then fitted it to the car along with a new HG. Also replaced the two large coolant lines, coolant tank + cap, thermostat, gaskets, coolant etc - all Volvo...
So just to follow this up, changed the tank, cap, thermostat and coolant and no improvement sadly. Its clear to me now that if driven gently the coolant level stays normal, once you start boosting...
Been a while since the last update!
The 850 has been busy helping me with bits and pieces over the winter. Lots of friends and family come out of the woodwork when they know you have a large...
Morning all! Along with some work colleagues I'm embarking on a team project to develop a sequential turbo-charger system for a 850 T5 as a bit of fun. I work for an OEM (not volvo sadly) as a...
Thanks for the comments guys, I will let you know the outcome.
Thanks for the comment. I have done some further investigation and found that there is a tiny split in the tank so I'm going to replace that and the cap at the same time. With regard to coolant I...
No sign of either, both look nice and clean (although as mentioned I did change the coolant a few days ago - but I have done a couple of hundred miles since then.)
Thanks for the input otherwise...
Morning all, after getting the 850 T5 to where I wanted it last year it has been quietly working away for me for the last 12 months or so without any complaint. It currently rungs a 16T, downpipe,...

The trip to LM was awesome, as always. If you like racing, beers, BBQ and spending time with mates without any women around you NEED to go. Quick vids, they don't come close to capturing the sound...
Next update...
Power wise I had a set of white injectors serviced by Mr Injector UK (excellent service I should add) and then fitted the ECU from Ettienne.
First off it was not boosting as high...
So the car went to Charlwood Automotive near Gatwick for the exhaust / turbo / manifold fitting. It looked like a horrible job to do on the driveway so I was happy to pay - fully recommend their...
If anyone has a set of white injectors spare I'd gladly take them off your hands :)
Quick update. The Volvo has been busy doing all sorts of Volvo-esq things for me, moving bathrooms, transporting pallets, generally making itself useful :)
...
Not a huge update; I've been slowly sourcing some parts for the project over the last couple of weeks and been doing a bit of reading about to proceed modifying it for more output.
So continuing...
Thanks guys, the ECU is the standard part but with 'upsolute' 277 off the shelf map according to the previous owner.
I do have the original stock ECU as well which is not mapped - so I may pop...
Just some Volvo parts with eibach springs - nothing too exciting!
So today I took the car out to do its first job for me moving one of the cars (well just a shell actually...)
Before heading...
Perfect thanks for that.
Haha - I did say long day... :) I'm not mechanic and never have been (strictly speaking) but it's been great to dust the tools off again.
I bled the coolant system in the dark if that makes you...
Managed to make some progress with the shed over the last few days.
First job was to swap out the discoloured and cracked headlight. None of the washers or wipers for the headlights work either...
Hi all, thanks for the welcome! Sorry to disappoint but It is in fact a T5 :) I have a powerful diesel in the form of the alfa so I'm a big fan of TDI power normally.
A member contacted me with a...
First off hi from a new member, looking forward to learning a lot from the community!
So where to start with this one..
I've always wanted a fast estate as I find the whole concept totally...
