Good to know, hopefully a job I won't have to do on this one though!
Nice one. Thanks a lot dude! Didn't see that. So that's the heat exchanger, must be a dash-out job to do that, not a lot of space at all under there.
I'll get the pipes off tomorrow and see how...
I've managed to remove the pipes on the engine side, chipping away at lead solder lol.
Looking at the 90 degree plastic connector on the inside, I can't see how it will come off. The engine side is...
Sounds like a done deal! If the power you run can take it, like you say mine will be fine. Gonna get some aero spec pipe, as my mate works in the industry. Super strong stuff. Give me a shout if...
Upon further inspection, it's far worse than I initially thought. The yellow clips must have gave way some time ago, and the lower fixing has what appears to be lead solder holding it in place.
I...
Thanks! So that's the Volvo replacement then. I need new clips too as that's what has given way - badly! - As well as the bulkhead housing which looks like its been galvanised. Looks like a pickle to...
Hahaha Frankie, each to their own I guess. If I had a huge turbo etc. then yeah I would. But mine's standard atm and causing more trouble than it's worth!
I'll have a look-see tomorrow, see what the score is. It does look like a §§§§§§ to do, as the housing on the bulkhead is definitely knackered!
If the cheaper option seems strong enough and I can...
Oh right, thanks mate! I think I get you. So you can pipe through the housing, so its not part of the plumbing anymore? Just using them to hole the pipe in place, or am I way off the mark.
Can I...
Nice work, car looks very tidy! And I see you've taken the dump valve off now. Thinking of removing the one my car came with; not really my sort of thing.
The connector for the 90 degree engine coolant pipe has just blown off the clip holding it in place, sending all of the engine coolant down the road in a pile of steam.
The bracket where the clips...
Thanks for all the replies, gents. I've requested a quote from mij, online so we'll see what happens with that.
For the price of a fully fitted custom system for the price of an imported obx...
Well, if all else fails, I'll be importing an OBX system from the US, as I've heard good things. They give you both an angled and straight outlet downpipe so you can have the angled as I have a...
Yeah, will do! I might drop in after work tomorrow, as I pass it every day, see what they have to say and pricing etc.
I Didn't know there were many local chaps, as I've not seen any meets spoken...
Good point, thanks Did sound a bit odd...thought it was worth a mention. I'll keep looking! lol
The one I've just looked at is Mr. Tire on Gulson Rd. That the one?
As I was on the way to get some tyres fitted on Friday, my exhaust flexi finally gave up the fight.
It had sounded rattly since I bought the car, so the search was on for a new part. Now the car...
Mine uses about that much which does concern me a little, however there is no blue smoke coming from the exhaust as a duff valve stem seal indicator. But I've been told it's not irregular for high...
I might just bite the bullet and go for 4mm i/d all round, as long as it won't cause any issues, which i'm sure it wont, just being cautious.
Looks very tidy, as does your engine bay!
That's a nice touch, you might have convinced me to go blue, as I'll endeavour to get myself an ipd or bsr intake kit; also blue ;)
- Shame your top...
Oh yeah, as we've already established
Fuel line sounds like a decent compromise, (HypHose don't do 5mm tube) as long as it can resist vacuum (inward pressure)
Woo hoo, was getting worried there - they only have blue on the site :bounce:
Order placed, 4m of 6mm and 2m of 4mm should cover it, plus some as spares. calling me back tomorrow to confirm :D
Good call! I'm not too big a fan of the luminous colours - eg. Samco/Bailey blue so black was my choice to contrast the white body.
I might just give them a go, as that's very reasonable pricing...
Nice one! :B_thumb: Ebay silicone hose here I come lol
I'll second that, all this typing is making me thirsty...
Oh, I nearly forgot. By recirc, are you referring to the recirculating dump valve?...
Thanks! Not sure I followed that last bit; if I ask for 5mm I'll get 6mm? So drop a millimetre to be sure?
