I. Had same fault sand no bananas answer correct. Check relay. Kills spark ass well as injector.

Just re-read your post and the old one, if your relay is clicking and is making is switching it would appear to be caused by a different problem to the one I had (though I had similar symptoms)....

but to cheer you up, think about this, would a great dane / wardrobe / drumkit be comfortable in the back of a 120d? And is a 120d around 16 years old?!

15 miles later and the power steering pump has quietened down and the tappety noise is gone.

Just now to re-lay the dodgy cable between the relay and the ecu (in the comfort of my parents garage)....

It would appear, that although the wiring to the main relay you mentioned looks ok, and is getting a voltage with ignition on from the ECU, but as soon as you put any load on it, you cant draw any...

RIGHT GOOD & BAD NEWS!

Went back to check the "main relay" again, the one nobananas mentions on top of the radiator. tests fine. But - not heard it clicking when ignition on so - shorted the two...

Definately says A5.2 and definately a T5!

As title - does anyone have the pin diagrams for the Bosch 5.2 ECU please?

I cant find them on the internet or the Haynes manual and a lot of documents i've seen dont talk about the 5.2 system
