Only thing I can say about the C70 (after test driving a few for the missus) is that the non T5 models seem to have significantly softer suspension, and are a little more wallowy.

Yeah - the prices are all over the place, as you say, some as cheap as £1000.
We looked at a V reg 2.4T, was very tidy, ~80k, but that was up for £4k, which was a bit high imo. Dealer though so...
Thanks for the heads up Dave, although she has said she doesn't want a ragtop as we have a Eunos in the garage.
Reading that VOC link though, I read it that the 2.4T came with ''Dynamic' chassis...
Yeah - I think that's the Dyanmic Handling pack, or something like that.
Only reason I ask is the other half is in the market for a new car, and one of her options is a C70 T5 (that was her first...
Did Volvo use the same suspension setup (ignoring options) across all of the C70 range? i.e. same dampers, spring rates, ARB's, ride height?
Or did the T5 have uprated suspension over the others?...
I'm going to be using 215/45 on my Propus C's. I don't really like 40 profile, too rubber band like!!
Cars fitted with the 17's as std (T5R & R) may have had the speedo altered to match the...
I wouldn't say 15mpg is very, very bad for town driving, unless it is mixed.
Mine is averaging 24.5mpg with relatively short journeys, but no town driving (stop/starting), and is an auto on 215k.
Could be worth going with the IPD drop links Phil - will match the new ARB's then ;)
How did you find the balljoints after 90k? That's if you've had them off yet?
My T5 had fsh, which is on...
That's not bad at all. I assume you zeroed your trip before the journey?
When I picked my T5 up (210k, auto) it was showing just above 30mpg for average. I zeroed it and haven't seen anything as...
I fitted Volvo ones, but bought them from PFV as they were a lot cheaper than even Rufe could quote me.
I expected them to be from OE manufacturer, but they were even branded Volvo. Solved an...
Cool - had seen yours before Cameron. Looks nice, doubt I'll go quite as dark as that.
So you have limo on the rears, and std glass on the front sides?
Thinking of getting some tints for my 855.
I know a few have got them on here, could you guys post up some pics and list what percentage they are (light blocked).
Also, has anyone fitted them...
Yep, sounds like mine - nackered, lol!
Does it look like it has fallen apart? Mine has a stud through it, that looks like it once had something bolted to it, to make up the rest of the horn mech.
Ah right, yes I think I have heard of that.
Tt?
I 'think' most after market maps still keep the safety features - don't they?
Thanks for that Splat. Rica/HLM304 I presume?
Quite possibly, I'm sure you do know where I've read that, but I've been around various tuning scenes long enough to know there is plenty of bitching to be had, which is why I wanted to do my...
I could imagine an auto giving a slightly off graph on the rollers, but then that's why you should disable kick down and leave it in a specific gear.
I quite agree that driving a car will give you...
Yeah, that is what you'd normally expect, and when tuning a car you would normally aim for a reasonbaly flat torque curve for as long as possible, giving you progressive bhp increase as you increase...
Thanks Yosser, the more the merrier :)
I think it was your graph I had seen before (over on T5D5), now I'm no T5 expert but that torque curve looks a little erratic in general. Was the car in...
Anyone has got a HLM304 map on their 850 (preferably fairly std), and has had it on the rollers, could they post up some graphs please?
It's the torque curve I'm interested in. I have seen a...
Did it have a factory alarm? If so I'm after a working alarm horn (under the bonnet, on the bulkhead usually). :)
Yep, most likely to be the IAC valve, will just need a good clean out to free it up.
Failing that, could be an air leak, or even an incorrectly adjusted idle screw/stop.
I'd go with the IAC...
As Pete says, it could be the boost solenoid failing maybe. This would let boost through to actuator earlier than peak boost, and so open it, running lower boost. I think these actuators open at...
