Hi RGC,
Did you ever fix your power lag problem - I notice a similar thing in my 2008 C70 D5 185 HP having just changed from old 2002 model. I posted about it under General Technical Issues then...
I think you'll find that very soon any vehicle supplied with a DPF from new will have to have it on and functioning to pass MOT...I looked into it when my son knocked off the DPF on Peugeot 308 by...
I can recommend Lukas at http://volvodiagnostic.com/ Sent mine away to him and he repaired for about £60
Having just bought a 2008 V70 D5 SE with 85K on the clock I am making sure everything is up to scratch. Generally very happy and impressed with the difference from my old 2002 D5 (fuel consumption...
Having decided the marks on the wires were just marker pen and all circuits looked clean & dry with no signs of burning, plus Volvodiagnostics tells me that my Intel 'Flash' chip is not the kind that...
Woops, I spoke too soon. After driving around a bit the DIM is back to its old tricks again. Lukas at Volvodiagnostics has been very helpful and I now have the CEM off to try and see if this could...
Final Update: As far as I know there were no fault codes related to DIM. Anyway, got the DIM off, sent it to Lukas at volvodiagnostics...
Thanks for all the advice guys - after working abroad the past couple of weeks I have finally got time to take the DIM out tomorrow and send it off to Cluster Repairs UK, I spoke to them and booked...
Phew - thanks Stribo / Redbrick,
Certainly good advice thanks. Redbrick, maybe you have hit the nail on the head 1st time. So the indicators are somehow related to the DIM?? Now you mention it...
With some further research I came across a few references to the indicator relay being part of the Hazard Warning light switch on some other models. However My Haynes manual doesn't mention this for...
Hi Graham,
I can't tell if that is a Joke or a serious dig at me? If a forum titled 'General Technical Help' is in fact for something else then my mistake. I haven't been on it for a couple of...
I have not been on this forum for ages as the car is pretty reliable! now at 135K miles. However, it has just developed an intermittent fault with the indicators. I have searched but not found any...
Hey - problem solved. I found a post on another volvo forum about broken wires as they pass through near the hinge on the left side - sure enough several wires broken here. Twisted together, taped...
I searched the forum but couldn't find an answer to this - Wiper not working so took off wiper blade with some difficulty (salt in the splines - use kettle of hot water to dissolve and flat screw...
Hi,
Anyone know where I can get little parts for the drivers window mechanism? It is the (blue) plastic part which attaches to the arm and slides in the channel in at the bottom of the window -...
Hi Anyone know the law regarding rear facing seats in the boot. Is the height / weight warning given on them a recommendation or is it law? I need to go somewhere tonight with 6 adult squash...
Well, my 2003 D5 had very similar problems and has just been diagnosed as needing a new fuel injector (at £245). I have already changed the fuel filter and put in some cleaner and it is perhaps...
I was informed that "More-bhp in Cheshire do remaps for D5's for £199.00",
Any info on those compared to the more expensive remaps? Also a lot closer to me here in N Wales!
Thanks,
Finally changed...
Doh - missed the fact that there was a separate section for series 2 cars! I read through your stuff RobbieH - sounds tempting. Someone else recommended that "More-bhp in Cheshire do remaps for...
Arrgrh - £700, I'll try myself or put up with it. Just realised that I started this thread in the wrong place as the current car is 2003 D5- can it be moved?
Now you tell me! Oh well, I only put two on and the rear ones are due soon as well. Am I better off putting a couple of the other (better?) tyres on the front or rear when I change?
As for how...
Cheers!
May be a bit dim but where is the DIM located?
Thanks,
Mark
Just back from Hols in France. The Trip computer worked on and off, so it looks like I DO have the same problems as in the thread you gave me , thanks. Will get my electrician friend to look at it....
No ideas anyone? Sometimes goes blank, occasionally perfect for a while, sometinmes backwards / flashing, bits missing etc. Different every time I start the car up!
Mark
Thanks for all the info - I'll keep it in mind for next time - now got 4 Pirellis so will let you know after 2 weeks in France,
