Tested everything: Fan ok, relay ok, no power from the single red wire to the relay - so it's deffo the "fusible link". Despite extensive googling, I can't find out exactly where this is - somewhere...

My cooling fan has died! Seized up and has melted all the wires. Even the relay had become stuck to the plug! However, I had a spare fan on my dead V70 P1. Everything identical, including the relay...

The owner turned out to be a Dutch Victor Meldrew, who complained about smoke from our BBQ and the volume of our music. We had no further contact after that! Shame really, as I'd have liked to find...
