how much power are you after...?? As you can get 300hp out of a 15g turbo'd T-5 with out spending mega money, I'd guess that you have a 16 or 18t on your car as standard (unless you have a LPT V70)...

A full stage 0 tune up is always recommended prior to remapping a car, always best to have it running in optimal condition to get the best from remapping it, as for the timing belt change, that could...
For the aux belt tensioner I use a 1/2" to 3/4" socket drive adapter lightly ground down on 2 of its flats so it fits easily
Good to hear an update and that your still plodding on with your project, just sad that tuning can be a right ball breaker sometimes.....
VPCUK is a hive of information, way better than any FB page could be for info like this, glad you found the answer you were looking for.
Only if you have a small leak and you can't trace it, so keep topping up the water as you need the car on the road, but the lesson learned is without the the coolant (lubicatant) the water leak turns...
Water pump seized up and popped the belt off, so I could be on a hiding to nothing. I have my fingers crossed though, the xc90 was doing less than 15mph and is auto so I'm hoping every stopped dead...
Got a bit of enthusiasm up today and machined up some locking pins from dimensions that I worked out trying various drill bits into the locking locations, Pins in, cam wheel slackened, belt slipped...
That's the first I've seen like that, must have had a light tickle at some point in it's past neither of my R's have had anything other than the standard manifold that is on the left of Dave's...
As above is anyone able to give me the dimensions of the cam and crank locking tools for the 2.4L D5 so I can turn some up on my lathe, as I want to get my xc90's tuning issue sorted asap and I can't...
There was mention of rear o2 sensors on a thread I read somewhere about the rear sensor and people replacing it and tapping into it's wiring for there wide-band monitoring for datalogging, so I...
Glad you've possibly found the issues cause, but just a thought that if that is the original 850r manifold, I would seriously consider swapping it for the Japanifold or S60R type exhaust manifold, as...
As Dave mentioned they could be blanking plugs, or possibly the bumper has been swapped a some point in the cars history for one reason or another.
The last one I made wound up in Australia for exactly the same reason, JamesT-5R couldn't find one, so I made him one and sent it over for his exhaust guys to fab up his new 3" dp for his green...
New 3" exhaust flanges nearing completion, so next move is to tack up the new 3" DP ready for welding and then the bsr system them needs it's new tailpipe finisher,......and to find a new engine too,...
That's me going in a different direction, compound charging should be fun and expand my knowledge a fair bit more, I'm already machining up a part that may grace the engine bay, which will depend on...
Lol... you'll wind up tinkering with something for sure.......
I think that's highly likely......:wavey:
A 19t would be my next move turbo wise I think, yet it would most likely be a modified 15g with a 19t wheel and turbine housing, it would be interesting what it would map up to on a dyno as the 15g...
It's your car, you should be able to do what you like with it, look up Claymore's threads on the T-10k and his T-5R, that should give you some ideas on arches.
Well thanks for that, glad you liked the thread......to be honest the rest of them have been saying for a long time to run a bigger turbo, I just wanted to see what I can squeeze out of it before...
The c70 rear anti roll bar is a nice upgrade I am reliably informed, as it is thicker than the standard 850/v70 ones and should be easily available for a breaker or ebay.
Thanks Morgan, the engine bay is probably one of the best bits at present along with the interior, sadly the body I can not say the same for at present, which is requiring new wings and a full...
Well I thought I get some pic's up of the work done last year on Gul starting with the boring out of the inlet manifold
32962
all went well and the hole saw was just the prefect size and just a...
It's odd that on the one that the inlet is stuck on, you'd imagine both to stick if the warped head theory has anything to do with it.
As for garage time, to cold for me and I have to sort the...
