Does anyone know what the difference is between the 850 autobox and the ones fitted to a later car (S70 is the car in question).


I only ask because the S70 doesn't appear to have the...

His T5 must have been shagged then....... what is the 2.5 20v, 170bhp as standard? T5 is 225bhp..... no way does k&n,exhaust + manifold add on 50+bhp.

If a car already has one of these blanking plate fitted then how difficult is it to remove it and put it back to standard? DIY job for a novice?

It is 100% the headgasket according to the mechanic. The car overheated as well (temp gauge right up in the red, burning smell etc). by the time Imanaged to get it home it was spewing water out...

True............ The c70 is a well kept secret I think, for less than 2k you can get a tidy one, parked up on the driveway with a personal number plate they still look like a very expensive ...

I sold one which was cat-c, it was fairly tidy but needed a wheel bearing a couple of months back for about 1k...... hard to compare but totally clean ones are selling (or not!) for less than 2k. ...

A remapped 850 is a surprisingly fast car once you get it rolling....... It is only once you step in to another car that you realise just how quickly the T5 engine pulls the car along.

The 'after' power figure seems a bit disappointing, and the 'before' is higher than one would expect.....

Isn't 270 - 280bhp the target area with a decent remap, exhaust and stage 0?

A remap is the best way to go then IMO. Standard figures are something like 240bhp/300Nm ..... a RICA/MTE/BSR/SUPERCHIPS should see you at about 280bhp/400Nm for around £350. Maybe budget another...

What car have you got? c70 t5? Auto/manual?

I would start with a remap if you don't already have one. £350 area, after that it gets a bit expensive tbh. Bigger 3'' downpipe with free flowing...

Tesco 99' is my favorite to be honest. My car seems to run best on that (IMO)...... I doubt there is a huge difference but my least favorite is any sainsburys fuel, don't know why??

CCR quoted me £650 to £750 for a full 3inch s/s system with 100cell cat.... ball park figure. Fitted including vat. Much better than I thought.
