have you checked the simple things like the fuses?
is the clicking coming from the footwell when you opress the keyfob or activate the door switch?

if it is the ETM .........sounds to me like the etm is ready to drop dead (imho)

at least it cant go into limp mode :)
the softare upgrade is a bit of a swizz as it alters the way that the ecu...
