I have a very similar problem no leaks at all but i get a misty screen. Need to take a look at the pollen filter as the car is stinking at the moment especially when the fan is first turned on!

There will be a write up on this over on MVS mate. Haven't changed it myself but i do know they are prone to failing especially if the PCV system is clogged.

Take a look at the colour of the fluid if it isn't pink then flush it. There is a good write up over on MVS (just google volvo 850 transmission flush) and it will come up.

Sounds very strange, but you may well be running too much boost for the transmission to handle in eco mode. I would certainly get a map for your car or down the the MBC down a tad and leave it in...
