Nice one Dave, glad you're finally sorted.
Now take it easy - it's a big step up from a diesel Astra! ;)
"It's partly based on a Ford Focus - so that's a good start." - which part???
;)
Good mate of mine had a diesel Seat (not his choice), and hated the thing sooo much he thrashed it to within an inch of it's life from day 1 - only to discover that he'd created the quickest diesel...
Exactly Murphy.
Some tend to forget that the idea of television is primarily entertainment!!!
Personally I like the whole TG programme - it takes the pompous stuffyness out of car attitudes. i.e....

Does mention bikes more, but seems that his opinion applies to all I.C. engines.
Rear susp top mount worth checking mate. Mine did it too, then one day finally failed completely.
VT fixed it, and 2 new shocks.
Worth grabbing hold of shock and seeing if you can move it at all...
Looks nice in the tv advert!
Is it as good in the flesh?
Nice ass but she couldn't drive the 240R properly! - she admitted that in the vid.
Seems like the Lotus couldn't fail to win given the stats, and with a "proper" driver it would have!!!
;)
Too right! - you can't shift anything bigger than a briefcase in these new fangled sporty things! Most have only 2 seats at best!
Your're thinking of a Lotus mate! - easy mistake...;)
I've never driven a car with soooooo much handling to make use of - Lotus Exige (the Toyota engine with the funny cam), round Donnington I...
Me too, one day! :)
Does the same apply to all 4WD sports cars?
I think we're going down the route of "FWD T5 is the best because..." and ignoring the technicalities of 4WD.
Don't forget that there was a 4WD T5 - or...
IMHO a T5 isn't classed as a "SuperCar".
Also, there's not much point in putting too much BHP in a FWD car - high/extreme BHP is really only suited to "true" 4WD or RWD proper SuperCars.
:)
A T5...
Leaving a motor vehicle running and un-attended on the highway used to be an offence.
Probably worth checking.
Imported vehicles (i.e. turbo diesels from Japan) have to have their turbo-timer...
Makes you wonder why Volvo didn't fit one as standard to their "sports" car in the first place!
Link?
Take a look on AutoTrader - gives you some comparative guage.
Is this usual not to have a DV on a turbo ~ I mean generally, not just on Volvos.
I only ask because elsewhere it seems that people fit a DV to an engine that doesn't have any sort of DV. So to me...
Would do, but my hearing is going (can too loud on the Kawa ;)), Moppy is not too far away...
:)
- but DON'T stand at the front! ;)
Not yet! - but I do miss her.
P.S. - see the edit to my prev post... ;)
Is it for sale? ;)
Looks well RPM - glad you're continuing the TLC!
edit - Just showed these pics to Alex (the 7 year old), and he said "He's treating it very nice!"
:)
Easy! - reduce the housekeeping money and divert the family allowance... ;)
RPM - she did have a Volvo sports exhaust on when I first had her (had to be replaced because a hanger on box broke away) - so she did once sound deeper without causing offence! (Ask Moppy, she liked...
