I am not sure why. I expected the fitting to be 2 hours or less. the guy spent 6 hours at it, including wheel alignment. I think he was gald to see the back of my car!
So far it seems like money well spent. I am very pleased with the results.
I am not much of a mechanic, but I am glad i never attempted this by myself.
I am very impressed with the ride quality. Bumps just seem to be swallowed up with ease now. I was exepecting the opposite effect! Stiffer springs harser ride. But the Eibachs seem to handle the...
I will try get some up over the next couple of days.
Not a big drop, but the car looks better for it.
Bumps just seem to be swallowed up now. A pleasant surprise, I thought the Eibach springs...
Spent the day at AMD having some Eibachs springs fitted.
The fitter seemed to have one hell of a job. I overheard him say it is the worst experience he has ever had fitting new springs!
Fair play...
I had this, and it was the alternator. Gave me about 15 miles before it came to a halt.

No locking wheel nuts on mine anymore.
Had the wheel repaired and it is now Ok.
Hi Bubba
I remembered that I still have some warranty left for the car so I am getting my mechanic to supply and fit a new one. I should be able to claim most of this back.
Good luck with...
Thanks Bubba. I am not fantastic with the spanners but I am going to give this a go. If you find out the Alternator will fit then we will have a deal.
I will wait to hear form you.
Thanks

Will it definitely fit my 2.4 T5? If so I would be very interested. Is fitting it a very hard job I should leave to a mechanic or is it relatively stratight forward to fit?
thanks
Dave
Thanks very much for your help.
Dave
I looked in the owners manual and it says the aternator is 140A. I would assume I can get a 140A replacement?
Thanks
Dave
Right! The Alternator is definitely gone, AA guy tested (after I just broke down with a dashboard like a xmas tree ( pretty but not what I wanted to see) and it needs replacing.
Looking online...
No one else been there! Good!
I will report if there are any issues I get fixed related to this.

Hi All
Just had this message and then the red battery icon was lit up.
Drove back home with no issues , swithched off and the message has gone.
Is this a sign of a failing alternator, or a...
Got to admit they were first class. Got me in straight away, diagnosed the problem and did not charge me a bean. I cannot argue with that!
I know what you are saying! The car drives so well but since I have had it I have had just small niggly problems. Argghhhh... Still could be worse I suppose my problems are not that serious...the car...
I thought I was done with this after replacing all the locking wheel nuts with normal nuts and getting 2 new front tyres.
Now one of the wheels with the new tyre is losing air.
Took it to Kwik...
Currently getting between 25 and 27 mpg.
Could probably improve on that if I were to drive less briskly, but I will not sacrifice driving pleasure for a few extra mpg. ;)
Hi Lee
Have you tried pasting the Direct link code from photobucket, here is a sample from mine:

Very tempting. :)
I am inclined to agree. Get a 1.6 and get fantastic fuel consumption if that is your primary goal when you drive your car.
