I'm in a bit of a sticky situation with my T5 as it was (past tense) having a manual gearbox and new engine fitted by someone who has since given up.
I'm left with a car that has had half a job...
It sounds like a bit of a ballache given it's coil on plug etc and potentially different engine mounts.
I'll find a solution, thanks for the heads up on the engine.

Pretty sure it's an ME7 engine after what you're described.
Annoying.
Any way of telling?
It came from a breakers so it's unlikely they'd know the difference.
I will start out by saying I feel like a bit of a prat as I seemingly haven't done all of my homework (story of my life) so I will take any good-natured piss taking in my stride.
So, I have...
So, two things.
1. Unless I'm missing something there isn't a button in my T5 that operates the central locking. I have to open my door to unlock the car if I've stopped to pick someone up. Can I...
Sorry Dave, it's gone straight to my local Volvo specialist for fitting as the car needs to be back on the road ASAP and I don't have the time to do it myself.
I'm sure someone else in this thread...
This is going into my 850 T5. Jamie at PFS seemed to think there isn't any need for modifications so I'm happy with that.
Thanks for the replies chaps.
Evening all.
Those of you who have bought and fitted the do88 intercooler themselves, does it fit right in like a Volvo spec unit or is there any extra fettling required?
Thanks!
Just had a quick look and the elbow piece mentioned is still firmly in place and not perished or damaged as far as I can tell.
Listening to the car on idle and when building revs it might be the...
My pcv has only just recently been replaced so I'm hoping it's just come loose somehow. That would also explain the warning light that won't go away.
Thanks chaps

There you go, that should help.
This may sound like a bit of a piss take but I've noticed my T5 makes a strange whistling/warbling sound, quite similar to a pheasant, when you blip the throttle when cold.
It only does it when...
It did make a sort of humming noise at low revs when cold but thats gone away.
I've got the ipd flush kit so I'll get that done and see what happens
I may be over reacting here but for the last month or so my auto box has been behaving strangely.
It doesn't change up when it should be, holds on to gears a little too long and when it does...
Fair enough.
I suppose the logic with the Castrol 15w 40 is it's slightly thicker so will give a better pressure on high mileage engines where wear has increased tolerances etc.
I'll stick with...
I've been told by a friend who deals in vintage cars that oils such as Castrol GTX 15w 40 and other classic car higher viscosity oils are preferable for vehicles over a certain age or mileage.
I...
